简体笔画按现代规范字形计算；康熙笔画按《康熙字典》的繁体字形计算，并把偏旁还原成原来的部首字计数，例如「海」简体 10 画、康熙 11 画（氵按水 4 画），「张」简体 7 画、康熙「張」11 画，「萧」康熙「蕭」18 画（艹按艸 6 画）。Simplified counts follow modern standard shapes. Kangxi counts use the traditional form in the Kangxi Dictionary with radicals restored: 海 is 10 vs 11 (氵 as 水 = 4), 张 7 vs 張 11, 萧 → 蕭 18 (艹 as 艸 = 6).

繁简对应、康熙部首编号和部首外笔画来自 Unicode 联盟发布的 Unihan 数据库（13.0，kTraditionalVariant / kRSKangXi / kTotalStrokes，Unicode 许可）。康熙笔画 = 康熙部首原形笔画 + 部首外笔画；字本身就是部首（或部首变形，如「王」）时取该字自身笔画；数字一到十按数值计。我们用 230 多个姓名学常用字的公认笔画做了核对。Traditional mappings, Kangxi radical numbers and residual strokes come from the Unicode Unihan database (13.0: kTraditionalVariant, kRSKangXi, kTotalStrokes; Unicode licence). Kangxi strokes = strokes of the full radical + residual strokes; a character that is itself a radical (or a reduced form like 王) uses its own count; numerals one to ten count as their value. We verified the results against 230+ commonly published values.
