每人 10 枚棋子放在星形棋盘的一个角里，目标是全部移到正对面的角。每次可以把一枚棋子移到相邻的空孔；或者隔着一枚相邻的棋子（自己或别人的都行）跳到正对面的空孔，并且可以连续跳。棋子不会被吃掉。最先把棋子全部移进对面角的玩家获胜。Each player starts with ten pieces in one point of the star and races to fill the opposite point. A move is either a step to a neighbouring empty hole or a hop over an adjacent piece (anyone’s) to the empty hole straight beyond, and hops can be chained. Nothing is captured. The first player to fill the opposite corner wins.
“中国跳棋”真的来自中国吗？Is Chinese checkers actually from China?
不是，它源自 19 世纪德国的星形跳棋，后来在美国被取名为“中国跳棋”，在中国也非常流行。No — it descends from a 19th-century German star game and was given the name in America; it later became hugely popular in China too.
对方棋子占着我的目标角怎么办？What if an opponent sits in my target corner?
为防止故意堵角，只要目标角全部被占满、且其中至少有一枚是你的棋子，就算你获胜。To stop blocking, you also win once your target corner is completely full and at least one of the pieces there is yours.
有什么技巧？Any tips?
尽量搭“梯子”：让自己的棋子间隔排列，后面的棋子就能一口气连跳很远。别留下掉队的棋子，最后一两枚往往最拖时间。Build “ladders” of spaced pieces so pieces behind can hop a long way in one move, and don’t leave stragglers — the last one or two pieces cost the most time.
