How to play & FAQ
How do I play Mancala?
Each player owns a row of six pits and the store on their right. On your turn pick up all seeds from one of your pits and sow them one by one counter-clockwise, including your store but skipping your opponent’s. If the last seed lands in your store you move again; if it lands in an empty pit on your side opposite a non-empty pit, you capture both. When one side runs out, the other side keeps its remaining seeds; the bigger store wins.
Which mancala rules are these?
The widely played Kalah rules: six pits plus a store, counter-clockwise sowing, extra turns from the store and empty-pit captures. Choose 3–6 seeds per pit; 4 is the classic, 6 is the hardest.
Any basic tips?
Look for pits whose seeds end exactly in your store to chain turns, watch for empty pits that let your opponent capture, and keep seeds on your side near the end.
How far ahead does the computer look?
Easy often moves at random; Normal looks about seven moves ahead; Hard thinks for 1–1.5 s in the background and sees much further.
