How to play & FAQ
How do I play Nine Men's Morris?
The board has 24 points. Each side has nine pieces, placed one at a time on empty points; afterwards players move a piece along a line to a neighbouring empty point. Whenever you line up three of your pieces (a mill) you remove an enemy piece that is not in a mill. With only three pieces left a player may fly to any empty point; two pieces or no legal move loses.
What if every enemy piece is in a mill?
Then you may take one from a mill. While any enemy piece is outside a mill you must take one of those.
What is flying?
When a player is down to three pieces they may move a piece to any empty point instead of only a neighbouring one, giving the trailing side a chance to fight back.
Can it be a draw?
Yes — after all pieces are placed, 50 moves each without a removal is a draw.
