After each guess the letters change colour — green is in the right spot, yellow is in the word but elsewhere, grey is not in the word. 「猜单词」怎么玩？How do I play Word Guess?
电脑从常用英语单词里随机选一个 5 个字母的单词。你每次输入一个 5 个字母的单词并提交，每个字母都会变色告诉你线索：绿色表示这个字母在正确的位置，黄色表示单词里有这个字母但位置不对，灰色表示单词里没有它。根据线索在 6 次之内猜出答案就赢了，结束时还会显示这个单词的中文意思。The computer picks a common five-letter English word. Each turn you enter any five-letter word; every letter is coloured as a clue: green means it is in the right position, yellow means the word contains it somewhere else, and grey means it is not in the word. Guess the answer within six tries to win; the Chinese meaning of the word is shown at the end.
单词有重复字母时颜色怎么判断？How are repeated letters coloured?
先给位置完全正确的字母标绿，剩下的按答案里还没用掉的次数从左到右标黄，多出来的标灰。比如答案是 SHEEP，猜 EERIE 时前两个 E 标黄，最后一个 E 标灰，因为答案只有两个 E。Letters in exactly the right place are marked green first; the rest turn yellow from left to right only as many times as the letter still remains in the answer, and extras are grey. If the answer is SHEEP and you guess EERIE, the first two Es are yellow and the last one is grey, because SHEEP has only two Es.
猜的单词必须是真实单词吗？Do guesses have to be real words?
默认任何 5 个字母都可以提交，方便试探字母；勾选「只接受词库单词」后只能输入内置词库（约 350 个常用词）里的单词，更有挑战性。答案始终来自词库，并附中文释义，顺便帮你记单词。By default any five letters are accepted so you can probe for letters. Tick “Word list only” to accept only words from the built-in list of about 350 common words for a tougher game. Answers always come from that list and show their Chinese meaning — handy for vocabulary practice.
