桌上堆着一副 144 张的麻将牌：筒子、条子、万字各 1–9 四张，东南西北风和中、發、白各四张，另有梅兰竹菊、春夏秋冬各一张。每次点两张相同的牌把它们拿走，但只能选「自由」的牌——上面没有被别的牌压住，而且左边或右边至少有一侧空着。把所有牌都消除就赢了。A full set of 144 mahjong tiles is stacked on the table: dots, bamboo and characters 1–9 (four of each), the four winds and three dragons (four each), plus one each of four flowers and four seasons. Remove tiles in identical pairs, but only free ones — nothing lying on top, and an open left or right side. Clear every tile to win.
每一局都能消完吗？Can every game be cleared?
能。发牌时先模拟一遍完整的消除顺序再放牌，所以每局开局都一定有解；中途卡住时可以用「洗牌」把剩下的牌重新排一遍，洗完同样保证有解。Yes. Each deal is built by simulating a full removal order first, so it is always solvable; if you get stuck, Shuffle rearranges the remaining tiles into another solvable layout.
提示会不会把我带进死局？Can the hint lead me into a dead end?
提示优先给出发牌时预留的那条解法里的下一对；只要你一直按提示走，就一定能消完。The hint prefers the next pair of the solution reserved when the tiles were dealt, so following hints all the way always clears the board.
和「连连看」有什么不同？How is this different from Tile Connect?
连连看是平铺的图案，用不超过两个拐弯的线连起来；这里是叠起来的麻将牌，看的是牌有没有被压住或左右挡住。Tile Connect is a flat grid joined by paths with at most two turns; here the tiles are stacked and what matters is whether a tile is covered or blocked on both sides.
